About ISMA

Mission Statement

The Information Systems Management Association at the University of California Santa Cruz exists to create an active community of students interested in business and technology and to create a strong identity within the School of Engineering and the University. ISMA’s efforts will focus on career development; community building; networking; and strengthening relations with UCSC alum. ISMA will accept students of all majors, grade levels, and interest levels into the program.

Officers

On this page you'll find an overview of the 2008-2009 ISMA officers. They are all juniors and seniors in good standing.

Description of position
It is the responsibility of the president to represent the organization from a high level, including ensuring good relations with the School of Engineering and UCSC. The president must also act as a liaison between ISMA and other student organizations. The president will work with the Vice President to outline the schedules and high level goals of ISMA. The president must have a very detailed and strong understanding of the direction ISMA will take during the specific quarter. Furthermore, the president will be involved in most of the events that ISMA puts on, including outreach and fundraising.

Description of position
The vice president will work direcly with all officers and members to ensure that the goals of ISMA are being met. Similarly, the president will work with officers to make sure that the officers are acting within the spirit and goals of ISMA. The Vice President will work very closely with the President to create schedules and take care of high level logistics within ISMA.

Description of position
The treasurer is responsible for overseeing how ISMA funds are spent, either directly dictating expenditure or authorizing it as required. It is their responsibility to ensure that the organization has enough money to carry out their stated aims and objectives, and that they do not overspend, or under spend. It is their responsibility to keep accurate records and supporting documentation for all ISMA financial transactions.
